Black and white
Most films before 1950 were shot in black and white; restored editions show them with fine detail and deep contrast.
Technicolor
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, The Tales of Hoffmann and Show Boat show the process at its richest.
Running times
Features of the thirties often last seventy to ninety minutes, and the short comedies last ten to forty.
